(March 16, 1937 - September 22, 2011)
A much-loved and respected member of the Long Beach community, Jean passed away from pancreatic cancer. She was retired from the Garden Grove Unified School District where she taught for over 35 years. She has been an extremely active supporter of Long Beach Jewish Federation, Long Beach Jewish Family and Children’s Service, CSULB Jewish Studies Department, Temple Israel, and the Long Beach Symphony. Jean will be truly missed by a great number of loving relatives and many dear friends, as well as the Long Beach Jewish Community.
The family asks that donations be made to The Marcie Balan Blakey Fund of JFCS or The Jewish Community Foundation – Jean and Robert Blakey Jewish Studies Scholarship, both at 3801 E. Willow Street, Long Beach 90815.
